The 'P', 'D' etc. numbers that follow the titles of publications are those given in the above sources, from which may be gleaned a wealth of additional information. Of course, the Hymn Tune Index is the source to consult, now that it has been published.

From time to time other individuals have passed on details -- their help is gratefully acknowledged. Names of sources are given with the individual entries.

For interest, I've added entries from a biographical index in Psalmo-Doxologia: A New and Complete Collection of Psalm and Hymn Tunes (London: Printed for W. Simpkin and R. Marshall), originally published in about 1825.
